We love this photograph of Duane’s great-grandparents, Ira & Myrtle Hawthorne, digging up sweet potatoes on their farm. Duane’s Uncle shared that Myrtle would often be found climbing to the very top of cherry trees to find her favorite ones, well into her later years. That stubbornness for good fruit is definitely instilled in Duane, too.
