'Rise & Shine' Grain Gift Box
RISE + SHINE
It seems that each October , we begin to naturally wake a bit later in the day. The summertime farm madness seems to catch up with us, forcing our bodies to rest a little more and craving to cook cozy meals.
The intention of this box is to treat yourself or a dear one to share a fresh start to the day. Whether it’s a rainy Sunday, and you want to make pancakes with our wheat & corn flour blend, cook a bowl of creamy oatmeal on a chilly weekday morning, or the heartiest way to begin a day, preparing a bowl of bright grits & greens.
Sorghum syrup is one of our favorite elaborate hobbies on the farm. Once you see the process of sorghum from seed to syrup, you probably will question the purpose. Once you taste the syrup, you’ll realize. Why do we go through such an elaborate process to press sorghum into a juice that we boil for hours? Continuing a tradition deeply rooted in our place, gathering and working together as community to create, & growing our own sugar source that has a uniquely sweet flavor profile.
& made recipe postcards for the milled goods included. We keep these posted on our fridge for quick reference & think you’ll enjoy doing the same. The ornaments are a nice reminder to hang in your homes year-round. Each piece of clay is pressed with a wheat stalk from our farm that is now a part of your home & a reminder to participate in your local food system.
