Oats have a high oil content, therefore are susceptible to go rancid faster. Oats are commonly steamed or heat-treated commercially to deactivate enzymatic activity, giving the final product a longer shelf life. We are not processing our oats in a way to extend their shelf life. By not heating them to kill off this enzymatic activity, we are preserving more of the oats natural oils(& flavor!). We encourage you to enjoy these oats in a porridge, savory or sweet, sooner than later and keep refrigerated.
Grown & processed without the use of herbicides or pesticides. Harvesting and cleaning oats are a true labor of love.
We roll the oats on separate equipment, but in a space we also handle wheat.
We roll oats the day before or day of delivering/shipping your order.
